Job Description Because this role involves a combination of
collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form
of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and
remotely.BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Principal Systems
Engineer with a passion for engineering and the desire to be part
of an innovative, dedicated team responsible for designing,
developing, and testing of industry-leading navigation and sensing
solutions in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This new member should be
interested in solving complex system of systems problems. The
qualified candidate selected will have the potential to engage in
various areas ranging from defining and designing the next
evolution of Assured Positioning, Navigation, and Timing systems to
leading the designs for a scalable sensor solution to solve
numerous smaller form factor seeker solutions.The successful system
engineering candidate will need experience working with numerous
stakeholders such as customers, leaders, software, hardware, and
ASIC engineers to develop solutions for large complex systems. The
proven ability to translate conceptual operations and high-level
design intent to creating systems definition and breakdown for
large systems will be required. The candidate must have experience
in working across the development lifecycle with history of
integrating complex systems and proving their capabilities through
lab or field testing. They will be working in a dynamic team
environment with engineers that share the same passion for
providing cutting edge solutions to today's military.As a part of
this team, you will have responsibilities spanning all phases of
the engineering life cycle, including capturing concepts of
operations, requirements analysis, design, integration,
verification, and transition to production. Assignments may include
tasks such as system design work for a variety of military
applications including the development and validation of various
system models and simulations. These models and simulations will be
developed to support various system analysis as well as direct
implementation in digital signal processors for use as rapid
prototypes or product solutions. In addition to participating in
initial system design, you will integrate and develop tests of
hardware, software, firmware of new navigation and sensor products
using a combination GPS RF simulators and live sky testing. It will
be expected that this team member also provide guidance and
leadership of the work activities to those with less experience in
working in complex systems to aide in developing the skills of the
team.Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this
specific position requires US citizenship status. Required

Bachelor's degree in STEM
disciplineMust be able to obtain a DoD Secret level security
clearanceStrong oral and written skills as this position involves
working with a diverse team of experienced professionals,
customers, and vendorsExperience with requirement development of
complex systems and system of systemsExperience developing
efficient signal processing architectures and algorithms for direct
implementation in embedded digital signal processorsDeveloping
verification and validation testsDeveloping support scripts and
utilitiesPerforming hardware, firmware, and software integration,
verification and validation activities Collaborating with other
systems integrators, hardware, software, and firmware engineers to
resolve system issuesDeveloping presentations and technical
reportsUnderstanding and experience with all phases of the current

Experience in system architecting of
navigational and/or sensor solutionsEducation in Systems
EngineeringExperience with modeling languages such as UML, SysML,
and DoDAFFamiliarity with engineering development tools like DOORS,
Matlab, Simulink, Enterprise Architect or MagicDraw, etc.Experience
with modern software languages (e.g Java, C, C++ C#, Python, perl,
etc.)Proven history taking complex design intent or conceptual
operations to defined systems architecture and sub-system breakdown
to achieve system needs. Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range:
$115100 - $195700Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and
